West of East

2011 WAMI Award Winners For

Best Americana Artist And Best Female Vocalist Of The Year!
WAMI Winner

Driven by vocals that mix the subtle, velvety style of Norah Jones with the power of Neko Case, West of East pairs intelligently crafted lyrics with their own blend of acoustic folk and gritty, electric guitar soaked alt-country.

Sara Moilanen and Tim Suchocki of West of East

"Sara Moilanen and Tim Suchocki may follow in the footsteps of folk-twang artists such as Neil Young, Lucinda Williams and John Prine, but manage to carry their own weight in the genre by shifting the emphasis to Molianen’s more soulful vocal style and their introspective-yet-uplifting lyricism."
  - wmseradio, Sonic Diet, WMSE Radio Blog (Jun 01, 2010)

"If you like the kind of thoughtful, smooth and beautiful music of, say, John Prine or Norah Jones, you will indeed like West of East. "
  - David Smith, Stumpjack Coffee Blog (Apr 01, 2009)

"I dig the energy. Love the lead vocals...that resonant, female, powerful voice "
- Kat Froelich, 88.9 Radio Milwaukee DJ, Speaking as a judge on the WAMI CD Roulette panel (Sept 26, 2010)
